Wera's 2022 Reading Recommendations

Recently I had the pleasure of working with Shepherd to put together a reading list of recommendations in addition to preparing promotional materials for A CELESTIAL REQUIEM. You can view the full posting on Shepherd's site here.
I recommend these five books because they are written by some of the most prominent authors of Asian Fantasy and are definite must-reads if you're attempting to break into the genre. Although THE MOUNTAINS SING is not fantasy, it should be included with this group due to the powerful narration and the journey the author takes its readers on.
You may notice there aren't any West Asian or South Asian books on this list and that is because I'm still discovering these stories. If you have any West or South Asian books to recommend, please send me a message! I'd love to dive into it.
It is my greatest hope that Asian Fantasy continues to grow because it's my favorite thing to read.
